THE ASCOT STAKES 1921 Run June 14, 1921, the Ascot Stakes was a two-mile contest for 2,000 sovereigns. In attendance that day to see Sir Hugo Cunliffe-Owen's Spearwort claim victory were the King and Queen of England along with the Prince of Wales and the Princess Mary. J. Shepherd's King's Idler and W. M. G. Singer's Chat Tor placed and showed, respectively, in the field of 13.
