GRAND NATIONAL 1953 The 1953 Grand National saw 31 horses start the race, but only five finished. Early Mist was the first across the line with Bryan Marshall aboard, the first of back-to-back Grand National victories for the jockey. This edition of the race also saw the start of the legendary Vincent OBriens three straight Grand National wins. The Open Ditch After Valentines First Time Round.
